The Consumer Attorneys of California have named Genie Harrison the 2022 Consumer Attorney of the Year for her work getting justice for the victims of Harvey Weinstein.
Sexual harassment attorney Genie Harrison won justice for survivors of sexual abuse by prominent Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. She represented his assistant Sandeep Rehal in her harassment and retaliation case against Weinstein and The Weinstein Company and several other victims who suffered sexual abuse.
The explosive news articles that brought Weinstein’s actions against many women to light and contributed to the #MeToo movement regarding workplace sexual harassment relied on Rehal and Genie as sources. Rehal’s case was the only employment case filed against Harvey Weinstein or his studio, The Weinstein Company, and was significant leverage in getting compensation for all of his victims. After The Weinstein Company filed for bankruptcy, Genie’s exceptional work achieved a settlement for victims.
The Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) awarded Genie for her work to win justice for the survivors of Weinstein’s abuse.
The Consumer Attorney of the Year Award is given to those who have significantly advanced the rights or safety of California consumers by achieving an outstanding result in a case.
